Scaffolding

June 4 - 23, 2026
Paris, 75116

Mortágua’s first exhibition, Scaffolding, takes its title from the temporary structures used to cover buildings during construction. Scaffolding reflects on the body in relation to the structures that support and surround it.

The exhibition invites contemplation around the body's relationship to its surroundings. How do place, time, and material shape the body? How does the body construct the environment?

Scaffolding serves as a platform and a veil, concealing subliminal realities with new layers.
In perpetual change, the limits of the body and the environment coalesce.

Set in an Haussmannian apartment, Scaffolding features a curated selection of multimedia works by artists based in Paris and abroad.
